My first thoughts about making backpacking gear—not ultralight, since I didn’t even know what that meant back then—emerged in 2015 as I prepared for my .
That year, my parents gifted me a Deuter backpack for Christmas, which I absolutely loved! It weighed just under 2 kg, but what truly inspired me was its quality. From that moment, I wondered: Could I make gear myself? That backpack was made up of thousands of fabric pieces, all meticulously sewn together—it seemed almost impossible.
The following years became what I now call my “experience-gathering” phase. I traveled extensively, went on countless hikes, , and completed my master’s degree. And then, finally, I started sewing.
